Dental Implants for Tooth Replacement

Are you missing a tooth?

Are there certain foods that you can’t eat because you don’t have the biting surface necessary?

Are you self-conscious about how your smile looks because you have a gap?

If so, Alaska Dental Associates can help by helping you get one, or even multiple dental implants!

Dental implants are a type of permanent tooth prosthetic that are inserted into a person’s jaw bone and then have a crown attached. Dental implants are a great alternative to bridges or dentures and can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or even for a whole mouth restoration. Unlike dentures which have to be removed daily, dental implants are ideal for candidates who want a permanent solution that offer an improved appearance for their teeth, improved comfort, an easier time speaking, better eating and chewing function, and overall oral health. Looking for Dental Implants in Anchorage

Alaska Dental Associates is proud to offer a complimentary 3D treatment planning presentation that allows us to help you visualize your treatment and what to expect when having a dental implant placed. Our office is open to the residents of Anchorage Alaska and local community, and we pride ourselves on our whole patient focus, making sure that we treat our patients with the same care and attention that we do our teeth. We are proud of our track record and the care that we provide to our patients.

In most cases, dental implants are safe for anyone who is healthy enough to undergo a routine dental extraction or surgery. Patients with healthy gums are important, so as the bones of the jaw are strong enough to hold the implant. We recommend all patients interested in implants to give our team at Alaska dental Associates a call and schedule a consolation with Dr. Kyle Triggs to determine if they are a good candidate. We will help you create your entire surgery plan from start to finish, all to ensure a healthy and speedy recovery and outcome.

Implant Procedure

The dental implant procedure starts with 3D imaging. Since the dentist or oral surgeon is going to be doing surgery, it is very important that he or she has a good picture of what is going on. Once they have the 3D image, they will insert a titanium screw into the jaw. You can compare this screw to the tooth root since it is serving essentially the same function. Once the screw is healed and is holding up nicely, you will have an abutment attached to the screw, and then an implant crown fitted to the abutment. When all of these steps are complete, your dental implant should function almost exactly like a natural tooth.
